The 2024 Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (DV-2024) is now open for applicants and will remain open until November 8. The Diversity Visa program’s purpose is to provide avenues of immigration for people from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the U.S.

  2. Each applicant must meet the education/work experience requirements of the Diversity Visa program: must have at least a high school education or equivalent, OR two years of work experience in the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience.

This year, individuals from the following countries are not eligible: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong Kong SAR), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of Korea (South Korea), United Kingdom and its dependent territories (except Northern Ireland), Venezuela, and Vietnam.
